CBD Infused Coconut Oil
Contribution By: The Bitchy Hippie(Adriana -Licensed Registered Nurse)
Materials:
- 1/4-1/2 oz of flower
- 1-1.5 cups of coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon sunflower lecithin powder
- Cheesecloth
- 13x9 Pyrex dish
- 2 pint-sized mason jar
- Pyrex measuring cup, or bowl (must hold at least 2 cups)
- Instant Pot
DIRECTIONS
Step 1.) Grind flower to approximate the size of a rice grain. (You can use an electric coffee grinder or small food processor. I use the Ninja food chopper)
Step 2.) Place ground flower in cheesecloth, and tie off into a sack (Don’t tie off so tightly. Leave room for flower to move around.)
Step 3.) Soak in water for 1-3 days depending on how light tasting you want your oil to be. (I personally don’t mind a 1-day soak.) Change water at least twice a day, agitating flowers, and wringing out water from flower sacks each time.
Step 4.) Wring out as much water as possible from the flower, then remove from cheesecloth, break up, and spread evenly into Pyrex dish.
Step 5.) Allow drying overnight.
Step 6.) Cover with foil, and decarboxylate in the oven at 230* for 45 minutes. When finished, remove from the oven, and allow another 30 minutes before removing the foil.
Step 7.) Place the decarboxylated flower, coconut oil, and lecithin into a mason jar, and mix together.
Step 8.) Place jar into the inner pot of Instant Pot then fills with water to the max line.
Step 9.) Set Instant Pot to “high pressure” for 20 minutes, then keep on “warm”, and natural release for 40 minutes. (While oil is infusing, set up measuring cup with cheesecloth to strain oil when finished)
Step 10.) Remove jar from Instant Pot, and place somewhere for the jar to cool off without becoming solid.
Step 11.) Once the oil has cooled off, strain as much oil as you can. Place into a second mason jar. Store in the fridge for max shelf life.
Disfruta(Enjoy)!
